My First Card for Designs by Krista and Daring Cardmakers

To make this card I used :

Patterned papers, sentiment and lizard from the Distressed Dude kit available from Designs by Krista

Edwin and brick wall stamps from Magnolia and coloured with distress inks.

Oh wow, more exciting news !

I don't know where to start ! I am with another design team, the second in so many weeks ! I can't believe my luck ! This is more than a dream come true.

In a nutshell my story begins like this :

I was chatting with my good friend Zoe on MSN while blog hopping and happened to come across a blog with the most amazing card on it. The patterned papers that had been used on this card were absolutely beautiful and I just had to find out where they had come from. Luckily the maker of the card had listed where everything had come from and I was amazed to see that she had got them from a free download on a blog called "Designs by Krista" I had a look at Krista's blog to find that she designs digi scrapbooking kits and sells them in her shop also called "Designs by Krista". Her kits are out of this World !

I told Zoe about them and she quickly had a look at Krista's blog and website too and we both instantly fell in love. We jokingly said to each other "I wonder if she has a Design Team we could join" and Zoe decided to email Krista and ask that very question.

We said goodnight to each other and the next morning woke to find an email from Krista saying "Yes, I do have a Design Team and I would love you both to join us as I would love cardmakers on my Design Team as well as scrapbookers". Well, you could have knocked us down with a feather !!!

We are truly honoured to be on the Design Team for Designs by Krista and can't thank Krista enough for giving us this amazing opportunity.

Trying New Ideas

I've been looking at the fantastic cards coloured by people using Promarkers and loved the lovely vibrant colours which I think is needed with some patterned papers. I was then reminded about Marlene's terrific blog where she gives a tutorial for painting with distress inks (of which I have many !). I followed the tutorial and then found these fantastic patterned papers which are amazingly given away free by Summer Driggs on her blog called Summertime Designs Summer is an amazing lady who creates these amazing kits while caring for her little baby girl who has undertaken a major brain operation this Summer. It is people like Summer who make you stop and think just how very lucky we really are. I dedicate this card to Claire, Summer's daughter. I hope you get well soon darlin.

Huge Congratulations to.....

Charli ! I just wanted to mention Charli who is the daughter of my good friend Jen You should go and have a look at Charli's blog, it is amazing and she also has two other blogs too, one for her artwork and the other with sketches on it for you to use when you have "those moments" !

Charli has also just received her GCSE results and wow, she is one very clever laydee ! Please pop over to say your congrats. She has worked so hard for these and has made not only herself but her family extremely proud of her. Well done Charli !

In the dog house

This card is made using the Berry Bright kit which is soon to be released on Kaboodle Doodles. The patterned paper and sentiment are both in the kit. I used a stamp from Elzybells Stamps and my nestabilities with Bazill bling paper. The image is coloured using watercolour pencils. The ribbon is from my stash.

Ahoy there me hearties !

Well shiver me timbers I managed to make another card ! After splicing the main brace I set about tackling the "Skulls" kit that is available to purchase and download from Kaboodle Doodles. I'm a bit of a pink and girly cardmaker so this was a challenge for me.

To make this card I used another birthday card for the picture of the boy (he is so cute !). The patterned paper, skull, map and sentiment are all in the Skulls kit.

Hopefully I won't be made to walk the plank for this one !

Cars

This is a card I made using the kit you can purchase and download from Kaboodle Doodles called "Cars" (details of the kit are below).

I made this card using the stripy paper and lettering from the kit.

The boy in the car is a stamp I purchased from Elzybells.

The green and blue card and brads are from my stash.

Cars

This is a doorhanger I made from the kit "Cars" available to purchase and download from Kaboodle Doodles. The kit consists of three pattered papers (cars, dots and stripes), the alphabet and numbers (as shown) and a sheet with three different cars on it coloured and uncoloured.

The boy in the car is a stamp I purchased from Elzybells. The eyelets and ribbon are from my stash.

Friendships Blossom

This card is made with the soon to be released kit from Kaboodle Doodles called "Berry Bright". This kit contains 5 pattered papers and 4 different sentiments available either to print individually or on one sheet.

To make this card I used three of the pattered papers which are available although I did cut the big flowers out from the third sheet !

The image used is a Penny Black image which was kindly given to me by a friend. This was coloured using watercolour pencils.

Yummy Cupcake

This is an ATC I have made using the Party Picnic Kit available from Kaboodle Doodles. I also used my Hero Arts Cupcake stamps with two colours of Bazzil Bling. The gems are from my stash and the ribbon is from Poppicrafts.

Just for fun !

My very good friend Jen sent me some of her Sugar Nellie Sweet Art Ebony images for me to play with and I couldn't wait to get playing ! I had also just been on a spending spree to another new craft shop I had been told about called "Snazzys" in Swindon. Oh my goodness, if you don't want to be tempted to spend money, you have to avoid this place as you definately won't leave empty handed !

I used to make this card :

The patterned paper is K&Co. Classic K McKenna 6x6 paper pad. I used another paper in this pad to make the florish on my Cricut with the Accent Essentials cart.

The flowers are Hero Arts Art Flowers in neutral and the brads are Papermania. The ribbon came from Snazzys with the flowers.

I coloured the image using watercolour pencils.

You must go and visit Jen's blog. She makes the most fantastic cards and is a real inspiration.

Crafts Beautiful August Bookmark Swap

The theme for this month's bookmark swap was butterflies and at the request of the host "Sequin" it had to include something pink and sparkly !

This picture certainly doesn't do the bookmark any favours and it real life, it looked very sparkly and bright and colourful indeed but the camera just wouldn't pick this up which is a real shame.

To make the bookmark I used some very glittery yellow card which is covered in little pink and blue flowers and butterflies. I bought this in a little craft shop in Dorset when we visited earlier in the year. The die cut pale pink and bright pink flowers are chipboard covered in glitter too. The butterflies are wire butterflies covered in a pink net and have a gem on them. I bought the flowers and butterflies in The Papermillshop. The ribbon is from my stash.

Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers Group # 23

Wow, what an exciting week I am having this week ! Not only have I been chosen to be on the Kaboodle Doodles Design Team with a bunch of lovely ladies but also I have made it into group 23 of the Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers. I can't wait to meet my fellow sisters.

I now have to tell you all about myself.

My name is Jo and I live in the beautiful County of Wiltshire with my husband of 13 years and two gorgeous daughters one aged 6 (nearly 7 - she tells me to say !) and 16 months. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home Mum but I do work sometimes !

I started making cards a long time ago but only progressed into scissors and glue round about Christmas time and I haven't looked back since, I love it and would craft all day long if I could. We do not have a dining room anymore, its my craft room !

I love stamping and especially like the Magnolia stamps, as you can probably see but I do like to have a change every now and again and I adore Hero Arts stamps.

I have just been chosen to be a Design Team Member for Kaboodle Doodles which I am really excited about and feel so proud to have made it this far in such a short space of time.

I am looking forward so much to meeting some new crafty friends to laugh, chat and get up to mischief with !!! Zoe and I are already good friends and Zoe is also a Design Team Member for Kaboodle Doodles (and she designs her own stamps !) and I can't wait to meet the other 18 sisters I am going to be sharing this group with.

Kaboodle Doodles - Exciting News !

The new website for Kaboodle Doodles is now live and up and running ! How exciting ! You can see and purchase the kits on the new website and a blog will soon be launched running challenges. The address is www.kaboodledoodles.co.uk

P.S. Don't forget to look at the Design Team's hard work !

Kaboodle Doodles - New Kit !

Andrea has designed this brand new "Party Kit" which is fabulous and is very versatile.

The new kit has 12 backing papers (3 different backgrounds in 4 different colours) and 4 sheets of images with and without text (including blank ones for you to print and colour yourself), and a white version of the party background (17 in total).

The kit will sell for £1.99.

My first card was made using one of the green patterned papers from the kit together with a piece of K&Co Designer Paper "Sparkly Sweet". I used a Sugar Nellie Sweet Art Ebony image which was very kindly given to me and was painted using watercolour pencils. The lace was from my local market. The flowers and pearl brads are by Papermania and I made the sentiment on my PC.

My second card was using two of the blue patterned papers from the kit (the one with the cupcakes etc) and the one inside the frame. The plain blue paper is Bazzil Bling which I have just recently discovered and adore ! The stamps I used are by Woodware clear stamps and called "Clowning Around". The clown and balloons were coloured using watercolour pencils. I used my Cuttlebug for the embossing and my Cricut baby for the lettering and number 4.

More ATC's !

I seem to be on a roll for ATC's ! I made these for the Crafts Beautiful August ATC Swap. The theme was Seasons/Gardening.

The grass and birds were made from a scrap pieces paper I found in my stash.

The sky was created with Tim Holtz distress ink and has little flecks of Colorbox Fluid Chalk "Frost White" in it to give the appearance of fine clouds. Unfortunately it doesn't show very well in the photo.

The ribbons are Maya Road "Laughter"

The buttons and cord are from my stash.

I loved making these ATC's and really didn't want to part with them ! I hope they go to a loving
home !!!

Another ATC Swap

Rachelsian of Busymitts organised an ATC Swap so I joined that too. I sent her these two ATC's.

The first one I have shown before and the ingredients for this are shown below.

The second ATC was made using Papermania "Sweet Nothings" 6" x 6" paper and my gorgeous Hero Arts clear cupcake stamps. I covered the cherry in little pink beads and two green beads for the leaves. I also found some beads for the top of the cake. I am so pleased how it came out and the real thing looked good enough to eat !

ATC Swaps

Lindsey's ATC

My ATC

I have made a wonderful new friend called Lindsey who lives in Massachusetts through the Crafts Beautiful forum and we decided to start our friendship off by swapping ATC's. This was the first time Lindsey had made an ATC and I must say, she is an expert already ! I love it.

I made Lindsey a Tilda ATC surprisingly the first ATC I have made using Tilda and I loved making it.

Hopefully we will swap again.

To make my ATC I used blue pattered paper from the "Blue and Pink" download from Kaboodle Doodles, Prima flowers, Tilda stamp and ribbon by Poppicrafts.
